When you see blue highway signs, you will be driving on an Autobahn that consists of three lanes. When at a junction, you must give priority to those on the right. You must also always carry a warning triangle and add headlamp beam deflectors to your car. The only toll roads that you will encounter are at the Warnow and Herrem Tunnels.
If you plan to rent a car in Germany, the minimum age for drivers is 21 years. You will need to provide a valid driver’s license and passport. If a driver is under the age of 23, there is also a young driver surcharge. For non-European drivers, your license will be accepted only if you have been in the EU for less than six months and have no visas.
