The dry season is the best time to go (from May through September). However, even the rainy season can be pleasant, with warm temperatures and slightly reduced humidity working in its favor.
Lombok International Airport (LOP) is the closest point of entry, providing links to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta. From there expect to pay around Rp140,000 for a taxi or Rp35,000 for the DAMRI bus.
If you are driving from Mataram and the airport, take Jl. Raya Senggigi along the coast.
DAMRI buses run into central Senggigi from Mataram to the south and Pamenang to the north.
Mangsit Beach - located at the center of the six-mile beach, Mangsit Beach is home to the area's liveliest nightlife, thanks to bars like Verve Beach Club.
Klui Beach - heaven for beach lovers, Klui is much quieter than Mangsit and home to some of the area's best luxury accommodation, including the Jeeva Klui Resort.
Batu Bolong - just south of central Senggigi and Mangsit, Batu Bolong possesses an equally attractive beach and more excellent hotel options.
Bemos (covered trucks) whip through town and are the cheapest way to get around, charging about Rp4,000 per mile.
Taxis in Senggigi will charge around Rp4,500 for the meter drop, followed by at least Rp500 for every mile after that.

If you want to shop for traditional Lombok furniture or works of art, you'll find plenty of stores in Senggigi like the Senggigi Art Market. Just look along Jl. Raya Senggigi and you'll find plenty of places to buy gifts.
Local supermarkets include Alfamart and Senggigi Abadi, where 12 eggs will cost you around Rp12,000.
