I stayed at the Golden Tulip for a total of 4 nights on a work trip leading up to Chinese New Year. Because of the timing, some of the amenities that I was relying on to be available (and a big part of why I selected the hotel) were closed or no longer existed. For example, the on-site spa was closed for a month for CNY. Neither the sauna or steamroom were functioning in the pool locker room, and much of the gym equipment was unusable. The restaurant on the top floor has also been changed to an upscale Chinese banquet restaurant, which means there are only private rooms and no individual dining/bar. The room itself was nice enough, but I also had issues with the heat/AC while there that the staff couldn’t resolve. Now I know why the hotel was priced so affordably.
