I wanted a compact car, but the key to it was misplaced so I was given a “free upgrade” to an SUV. It was a definite upgrade in car, but as the city I was driving in had narrow streets and park places, I was wishing I had the compact instead. Really think twice about accepting an alternate class of car and if it will suit your needs as well.Budget

Pros:
My experience was actually amazing. The on line experience and both in person experiences were excellent. I do not want to take away from that. The accidental ordering of two cars, and being able to cancel with no trouble was a very great experience as well.Cons:
My experience ordering an economy car and getting a V6, was a bit sad. I had a long way to travel and that was the impulse to get a eco car. The gas cost more that the rental of the car, due to the engine size. My recommendation would to ensure if a eco car was ordered do your best or at least tell the person so they may choose something more fuel efficient. All in all great experience. Pros:
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I showed up alone and got quite sick and was shaking. I didn’t think I could drive. The staff spoke to my husband on the phone and got me in a cab and sent me where I needed to go. And then we picked up the car the next day. They were terrific!10.0 Wonderful

I regularly use national for all my business travel. They have great cars and great customer service when you BOOK THROUGH NATIONAL.Cons:
National had originally told me they didnt have any cars, however I was able to book one through kayak. After booking with kayak my company contract with them was somehow no longer valid even though I had to still pay and do everything through National.2.0 Poor

Turning the car in at Seattle was as should have been.Cons:
Overpriced!!! $630 for 2 days. We went to the National counter at Vancouver, and were told that they did not handle my rental. That I had to go to the South terminal. No instructions on how to get to the South terminal were given. We went around the airport lugging 5 suitcases and an infant for over 1 1/2 hours until a bus driver told us how to get to the remote terminal. I will avoid renting from National ever again.Hertz

It was the right size.Cons:
Wait time was very long picking up the car, they seemed under staffed. The electronic and USB connections were not working! Therefore our phones would not charge and our GPS systems would not work!! The GPS system in the car was stuck on demo mode and kept shutting off after about two minutes. Navigation was a nightmare! They also failed to tell us that the gas cap lid was a spring loaded push plate, so we wasted a lot of time looking for a release lever before we figured it out.9.2 Wonderful

Cons:
I arrived at the airport at 7:30pm and called for a shuttle. I called twice with no answer. I took a taxi out an couldn't find the location. I finally got through and the person on the phone said they closed at 5. On my printed out paper, it says pick up till 9pm. I had to make a last minute booking with another company at the airport and paid a 65$ taxi fee for the back and forth. The money I would have saved was not worth this head ache. I am super disappointed the pick up times weren't clearly indicated and I would have arranged myself accordingly. I think kayak should make a better effort in providing better, reliable companies considering their name is associated with them.8.0 Very good

Waited 45 minutes at the airport for the shuttle. Called ACO several times but no answer. Car engine light came on and the ACO call centre was unable to help me, it being a Sunday. I sent a photo and an email of my concern but received no reply. No windshield washer fluid.2.0 Poor

Arrived in Orlando, called ACO for pickup and was told my car had been cancelled. There is absolutely NO way that I did this. The customer service person had no explanation and offered no help other then to go back online and try again. When I did this I was told there were no cars available. Shuttle from airport doesn’t arrive. I called multiple times. No answer, no response to voicemail. Took taxi instead. Hard to find location which is in the middle of nowhere, barely lit and marked Tuff instead of ACO. Got to counter at 7:02 and was told they close at 7 so wouldn’t help me. Also if you are an hour late your entire contract is canceled anyway. So they would not have helped me regardless due to the shuttle bus issue. I was stranded with my toddler and no car. Staff would not even call me a taxi. Thank goodness Lyft was nearby. Terrible staff, terrible service, terrible operation. I wasted $50+ in cab fare thanks to ACO. BEWARE.8.4 Very good
