This is inappropriate as my carry on suitcase meets the requirements however it always asked to check in on AC flight on the gate. Yes I have it for free, but it takes extra time to pick up on the carousel. Apparently it fit the overhead space, so why AC has this issue all the time?

A 2 hour delay because they couldn’t fit some oversized cargo in the small hold doors of an Embraer! Surely they know the sizes before attempting to load it?

Overall everything was fine. This leg one of suitcases got smashed badly, and the airport employee told us to call the airline when we got home... No you have to get a file # at the airport or the airline won't do anything for you. That was on me for believing him and not necessarily the airlines fault.
The only complaint, and it was a HUGE HASSLE, was the carrier of the flight from Newark to Toronto on flight AC 3711. On my itinerary it stated that the flight was 'Operated by REPUBLIC AIRLINES/UNITED EXPRESS'. Translation: it was a United Airlines flight. Different terminal, which meant frustration with inability to check in at Terminal A, needing to catch a shuttle to Terminal C. I told my friend who was picking me up that I was flying United Airlines. She waited for me at the United Airlines terminal in Toronto, except I arrived at the Air Canada terminal. Very confusing and difficult for all of us. Better communication is needed when other airlines operate Air Canada flights.
