Plane was smooth. More of a YVR issue, but the gate at departure was JAM PACKED with people and departing flights. Literally standing room only around the gates... This should be staggered or spread out better. Other than that, the flight was fine.
Air Canada is the worst airline I have ever flown. They lost my luggage, cancelled my flight, refused to pay for a hotel, charged me for business class even though they changed my flight to economy and there is no process to get someone on phone. Would not recommend Air Canada to my worst enemy.
The boarding staff was extremely rude and disrespectful to multiple passengers. I would advise to avoid Air Canada at Comox airport unless they take steps to improve their airport staff.
Overall it was great! Seats were comfortable. We were offered snack and drink on the way to Florida but only a drink coming back. Free messaging for aero plan members was a great feature to have on board so we can connect with loved ones … entertainment like movies and shows was also a good selection!
Bad experience with Air Canada. Our first outbound flight was cancelled due to weather, but the airline rebooked us 2 full days later and basically told us it was our problem and to go away. Then a further onbound flight was delayed for 12 hours. The airline booked us a hotel, but the hotel was unable to transport all passengers in its shuttles (the airline of course didn’t provide any transportation or taxi vouchers), so we waited hours just to get to our hotel and get checked in. Finally, on the way back we had ANOTHER flight cancellation, and the airline wasn’t able to get us on another flight until late the following afternoon. All told we lost 3 days of our vacation (including nonrefundable hotel booking) and arrived home a day later than scheduled. I will never rely on Air Canada to get me where I’m going again.
On the Vancouver to NRT flight, The staff were condescending and withheld at times. There were times when they appeared to be more concerned with socializing with each other than appearing professional. I know it must be a hard job, but being chatty and handsy with each other in the public view only to be condescending to customers isn’t a good look.

Liked the lounge in Toronto. The filmed safety information featuring a tour of Canada was amusing, maybe confusing to those with out English or French, or flying for the first time. With a few exceptions, personnel were polite and helpful.
The problem in part was with the airports, not really the fault of Air Canada. Confusing directions regarding the gate, in Seattle the recommended shuttle train entrance was not working. Simular problems in Toronto. Baggage arrived in good time. Marx Bros movie on entertainment from Seattle. I was told I was laughing too loudly, by the flight attendant. No lounge in Seattle. Lounge in Toronto excellent.
Made me check my carry on despite there being dozens of empty bins when I boarded which significantly inconvenienced me.
